Technology is an integral part of class rooms these days. That being said, it is important that while using technology the students are effectively engaged and are productively learning. As a part of this course we had to come up with a unit plan that integrated technology in it. The best part of this assignment was that everyone shared their plan. Enjoyed reading the lesson plans of other teachers (especially Math) and get to know how they deliver their plans and their assessment styles and the tech tools they use. This was a great learning experience and got a lot of takeaways from it.
We also had a genius hour project as a part of this course. While we had done this before in Assessing and Improving Student Achievement With Technology, the difference now was that we had to share what we were doing and how we were doing it as a blog post. I decided to choose a project that I was really passionate about, though it had nothing to do with the subject I teach. I had been thinking about doing something like this for a long time and this opportunity nudged me in the right direction.
Overall this was a very informative course with awesome peers and a wonderful instructor. Glad that I took it.
