As a part of this course we had to write a unit design which included all elements of a complete unit. I chose Solving Linear Equations in Slope-Intercept Form as my unit. We had to include Unit overview, goals, standards, essential questions, assessments and sample lesson plans.
The goal of formative assessments is to monitor student learning and provide ongoing feedback based on which teachers can modify teaching and learning activities and students can identify their strengths and weaknesses and accordingly target areas that need work. Your formative assessment is great for this unit. It will give you the data you need and it will give students an idea of where they are in their learning.
